A splendid cased pair of officer's percussion pistols.
Made around 1840 and presented in a brass mounted mahogany case bearing the trade label "WILLIAM POWELL, BIRMINGHAM". The pistols feature heavy 8 inch octagonal barrels engraved "LONDON" with bead fore-sights. Scroll engraved top tangs, white metal plugs, scroll engraved bar action locks signed "Forsyth", flat sided hammers with dolphin heads. Walnut half stocks with chequered butts. A superb collectors acquisition.
